EMEA Distribution and Logistics Manager

The Distribution and Logistical Manager is responsible for the development and execution of a logistics and distribution strategy that will optimize EMEA territory transportation, warehousing, and distribution costs while achieving, or exceeding customer service targets. This position will serve as the Distribution and Logistics consultant to Wahl Clipper's EMEA subsidiaries; Germany, Hungary, and Netherlands, and reports to the Director of Global Distribution and Logistics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develop EMEA territory logistics and distribution strategy that will support the business achieving customer service targets while optimizing transportation, warehousing, and distribution costs.
2. Assist EMEA subsidiaries with implementation of strategy and realize expected benefits (service and/or costs).
3. Develop and manage freight forwarder and 3PL scorecards
4. Logistics support for entry into new global markets
5. EMEA territory subject matter expert responsible to spread logistics, warehousing, distribution best practices globally
6. Partner with global supply chain partners (sourcing, factories, warehousing, distribution) to meet customer performance expectations and optimize costs
7. Partner with supply chain partners to develop plans to mitigate logistics risks associated with trade lanes.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Achieve customer service performance targets while optimizing transportation, warehousing, and distribution costs.
2. Develop and implement of logistics metrics with the purpose of evaluating performance and cost and driving improved performance
3. Optimize logistics spend and develop strategies and cost savings projects
4. Use performance scorecards to drive continuous improvement throughout transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks.
5. Provide leadership and support to local subsidiary leadership to management to drive service and cost improvement
6. Global implementation of logistics best practices
7. Understand global supply chain trends incorporate into planning to minimize costs and maximize performance
8. Support global ecommerce initiatives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related discipline
• Knowledge of international commerce (Licensed Customs Broker preferred), including global supply chain processes, customs regulations and requirements
  • In depth knowledge of key supply chain and logistics processes and current best practices
  • Experience with Import/Export Compliance and Free Trade Zones
  • Experience with all modes of domestic and international freight and the use of intermediaries, including freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PLs, etc..
• Experienced in successfully negotiating freight and logistics service agreements
• Able to recognize and apply the simple, appropriate approach where appropriate
• Prefer 3+ years in a similar position with a minimum of 5 years of experience with global supply chains
• English language skills
• Willing to travel throughout the territory 15% of the time
