Regional Sales Manager-North

Position Overview:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) - North Zone for the Professional Category is responsible for driving the budgeted sales revenue in Northern India for Wahl India's Professional division. The role will involve delivering primary and secondary sales targets, managing existing distributor relationships, and expanding the GT(General Trade) Professional business. Additionally, the RSM will be expected to mentor and coach the sales team while ensuring smooth operations and long-term business growth in the professional category.

Reports To: GM-Sales - Professional Category

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Revenue Management: Achieve and exceed primary and secondary sales targets for the Professional business in the North Zone.
  • Distributor Management: Oversee business from existing distributors and assist the team in appointing new distributors to expand the GT-Professional business.
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead, mentor, and coach the sales team to meet or exceed designated revenue targets. Provide ground support and guidance to ensure the team's success.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with Professional customers, distributors, and channel partners (such as salon owners and professional hairstylists).
  • Market Presence & Brand Awareness: Regularly visit potential and existing customers to present company offerings, build brand awareness, and strengthen relationships within the region.
  • Trade Claims & Receivables Management: Oversee the management of trade claims, payment collections, and business reports from the sales team and channel partners to ensure timely and accurate submission.
  • Market Intelligence: Collect and analyse competition data and customer feedback. Support senior management in drafting counter-strategies based on the information.
  • Product Supply Management: Oversee product ordering and shipment in accordance with the sales forecast to meet customer demand and business needs.
  • Promotions & Educational Programs: Ensure that special promotions, initiatives, and educational programs by Wahl India are executed in a timely manner, with proper reporting on their effectiveness.
  • Customer Service & Issue Resolution: Address and resolve customer complaints and service issues at the local level to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the professional grooming or beauty industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and competition to draft strategic initiatives.
  • Proficient in using sales software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned region and work independently.
